The development shall include the full range of prison buildings including kitchen, laundry, links and education, prisoner "regimes", recreation facilities, visits, staff, administration amongst others. The procurement route for HMP Grampian will be a single stage design and construct where the design will be developed by the Contractor. As part of the single stage design and construct strategy, the SPS will provide prospective tenderers with a design developed to stage D (RIBA Plan of Work), including a design brief, drawings, room data sheets, output based specifications, an operational brief and any other associated relevant information available. The SPS will also advise which parts of the design may not be changed and which parts are exemplar and therefore to be designed and developed as part of the Works. The SPS has commenced this procurement process in good faith and with the intention of awarding a contract; however contract award is subject to planning permission being granted on terms which are acceptable to the SPS; and on funding being granted by the Scottish Ministers for the project.
