UK-London: landscaping work for parks
UK - London The Victoria Park project, London. Landscaping work for parks. Construction work for buildings relating to leisure, sports, culture, lodging and restaurants. Park Improvement and Construction works in Victoria Park. The Park Improvements include civil engineering works, lake restoration works, soft and hard landscape works, the construction of new park structures and bridges, and the restoration and conservation of park monuments. The Construction works comprise a new build. Visitor Centre, the restoration/refurbishment of an existing building, and (subject to funding) a new build Sports. Changing facility. This is project is jointly funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The sports elements are subject to funding by Sport England. The project will be tendered as 2 lots. Lot 2 (the Buildings Contract) comprises the construction of the principal buildings i.e. the new Visitor Centre including cafe and public toilets, and restoration/refurbishment of an existing building. Lot 1 will also include. (subject to funding) a new build Sports Changing facility. Lot 1 (the Landscaping Contract) is for the park restoration works including restoration of park monuments, construction of new park structures (bridges, Chinese pagoda) works to play areas including water play features, lake restoration works, hard and soft landscape, and (subject to funding) outdoor sports pitch refurbishment and renovation/reconstruction. The Council is seeking expressions of interest from firms suitably experienced and qualified to carry out such park restoration 'building' and 'landscape' works. It is envisaged that the project will require separate main contractors, one for each lot, each with relevant extensive experience and a proven track record in completing. Heritage Lottery funded projects, including both listed building and new build contracts. Firms that possess the necessary skills and experience may express interest in both lots. Contractors without positive experience of working on Heritage Lottery or English Heritage funded or other similar historic buildings or restoration schemes may not be considered for this work. The Council will be procuring the main contractor for each lot using single stage selective tendering processes with JCT contracts (including contractor design portion(s)). We will be issuing full tender documentation including measured Bills of Quantities and requesting a fixed price tender for each of the 'building' and the. 'landscape' lots. Some EDI messages are essential for parts of Lot 2 and 3, others are desirable, as will be set out in the invitation to tender documents. All messages must be supported in Edifact. Direct procurement via suppliers' websites: The City Council requires the facility to order main lending and reference stock directly from suppliers' websites. Supplier selection: The City Council currently operates supplier selection for adult fiction and non-fiction, children's stock, music recordings and DVDs and wish to continue with this arrangement. The City Council will expect suppliers to select stock for Westminster libraries and archives according to the City Council's specification, providing a high quality stock, matching provision to customer needs and managing the allocated budgets. The City Council subscribes to the "SmartSM" software provided by Bridgeall for evidence-based stock management. Suppliers must be prepared to work with the SmartSM procurement module to improve procurement under supplier selection and monitor the performance of the stock supplied. Deliveries: Direct delivery to a minimum of 15 sites within the City of Westminster is required. The City Council reserves the right to amend the number of delivery points during the contract period. The contract will be split into lots to cover the Royal Mail Group estate and the network of franchisees. The Royal Mail Group estate will include Royal Mail Letters, Parcelforce Worldwide and Crown Offices (Post Office Limited).
