DK-Copenhagen: engineering works and construction works
Cityringen - Civil Works. (1) Civil Works General Information: (A) Alignment and overview: Cityringen will be a fully automated and unmanned metro ring line under the centre of Copenhagen. The line will consist of two single track tunnel tubes each approximately 16 km in length including 17 underground stations with island platforms, In addition Cityringen will include an automated Control and Maintenance Centre prepared for operation and maintenance of the system. (B) Stations: The concept for Cityringen underground stations is developed on the basis of the station concept for the existing Metro. Stations will be provided with island platforms and a daylight lighting concept in order to create an experience of security and clarity. The daylight penetrates to the platform level via openings at street level. The underground stations are typically cut & cover box structures. Deep retaining walls of secant piles or diaphragm walls to form the station box structures are foreseen. Many of the stations are located in the centre of Copenhagen City very close to existing buildings. Many of the existing buildings are founded on timber piles. The construction of the stations must not cause damage on the buildings. The requirements prompt general use of water tight and rigid retaining walls. (C) Tunnel: Twin TBM bored tunnels will connect the stations. Via a bifurcation, twin bored tunnels will further connect to a cut & cover tunnel and ramp leading to the Control and Maintenance Centre which will be located at ground level. The tunnel construction involves the use of three methods: (a) 5.7 m diameter twin tunnel using tunnel boring machines (TBM), (b) Twin tunnel and caverns using sprayed concrete lining (SCL), (c) Cut and cover tunnel and ramp. The TBM construction will be primarily through the Copenhagen Limestone, but in the northern part of the alignment, the TBM tunnel will also drive through the overlying Quaternary soil over longer lengths. The tunnel depth varies from approximately 20 m to 35 m and has an inner diameter of approx. 4.9 m. The design for the SCL tunnels is based on using the sequential excavation method, and the use of shotcrete, with or without steel fibres in conjunction with rock bolts and lattice girders to provide initial support for the tunnel. (D) Worksites and utilities: Worksites are located at each station, shafts and at 3 main TBM work sites. Utilities and services will have been relocated when the contractor is given access to sites. (E) M&E installations included in Civil Works Contracts: The stations, shafts and tunnels are equipped with mechanical and electrical installations in order to provide safety and comfort for the passengers and O&M personnel as well as securing well conditioned technical rooms to provide for well functioning, reliable and long life installations. The M&E installations include: (a) Tunnel ventilation, (b) Escape route pressurization, (c) Station smoke ventilation, (d) Station ventilation and cooling, (e) Sanitary installations, (f) Drainage of tunnel, ramp and stations, (g) Fire fighting systems, (h) Emergency and access doors, (i) Low voltage power supply and distribution, (j) Cable routes, (k) Lighting and emergency lighting, (l) Automatic fire detection and alarm systems, (m) Earthing and bonding, (n) Local control and interface to the remote control and monitoring (SCADA), (o) Lifts and escalators. The services require coordination with structural teams, architectural finishes contracts, transportation systems contractor, authorities and other stakeholders. (2) Architectural finishes: Architectural finishes inside the stations are expected to be procured seperately using a provisional sum in the CW contract(s). Design of architectural finishes will be carried out by the contracting entity. Architectural finishes for the station areas and shaft areas are procured as a separate contract to be performed after the Civil Works. CPV: 45220000, 45221200, 45234111, 45234122, 45234125, 71311000, 71311230. ...
