The provision of domiciliary care for older people including mental health services for older people, and people with physical disabilities in the City and County of Cardiff. The City and County of Cardiff is seeking to award a framework for the provision of domiciliary care for older people, including mental health services for older people and people with physical disabilities. Whilst the Council is unable to estimate the total value of purchases for the entire duration of the framework agreement, historically the Council has spent in the region of 14 000 000 GBP per annum with the independent sector primarily through spot contracts with a large number of providers, although the Council cannot guarantee that this level of spend will apply to the framework agreement. It is the intention that the introduction of a three year framework (with option to extend for 12 months) with a rationalised provider base will facilitate improved co-ordination and integration with providers and lead to efficiencies and improved outcomes for service users. The framework will focus specifically on provision of domiciliary care for older people, and people with physical disabilities. Domiciliary care for Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and Drugs and Alcohol will not be included within the scope. The framework is being divided into four geographical zones (detailed below) and that each zone will have two separate lots which will be based on the number of hours of the services which may be required. Further information regarding the lots is set out in the tender documentation. The four geographical zones are: Zone 1 - North West - Creigau & St Fagans, Ely, Fairwater, Llandaff, Llandaff North, Pentyrch, Radyr & Morganstown and Whitchurch & Tongwynlais; Zone 2 - South West - Butetown, Caerau, Canton, Gabalfa, Grangetown and Riverside; Zone 3 - North East - Cyncoed, Heath, Lisvane, Llanishen, Pentwyn, Penylan, Pontprennau & Old St Mellons and Rhiwbina; Zone 4 - South East - Adamsdown, Llanrumney, Plasnewydd, Rumney, Splott and Trowbridge.
