Central heating installation framework. The Trans Pennine Housing Group is a registered social landlord based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England and owns and manages approximately 16 500 homes in West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and the north west of England. The stock is a mixture of traditional construction, high rise and non-traditional dwellings of various types. The THG is committed to excellence in the delivery of its services to customers and has a programme of property modernisation covering the whole of the stock and is looking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced contractors to a new 4 year framework agreement. The framework agreement will cover the replacement of worn out and obsolete gas fired and electric heating systems in a mixture of low and high rise installations and is likely to include the use of alternative energy sources, environmentally sensitive heating solutions and group heating systems where appropriate. The main purpose of this contract is to carry out Planned and Preventative Maintenance to domestic properties (including works under UK Governments 'Decent Homes' scheme to maintain existing standards) and works to council owned business premises and community centres. The full scope of works includes: kitchens and bathrooms, internal finishes, roofing works, central heating and boilers, electrical works and services, doors and windows, damp works, internal and external insulation works, internal and external structural works, housing health and safety rating system works, external hard and soft landscaping works, hard wire testing, disabled adaptations, fencing, external painting and repairs, garage improvements, asbestos removal, improvement works to internal and external communal areas (including fire protection and balconies), major refurbishment projects, small new build projects and building extensions. N.B. Cambridge City Council's requirements will be used as the basis for the framework which will consist of three contractors. ESPO will establish and manage the framework and will require the three contractors to execute a framework agreement with ESPO. The City Council will then enter into specific contracts with 2 of these, through a service contract. The bidder achieving the highest score following the evaluation of tender submissions will become the main (primary contractor). A back-up (Secondary contractor) role will also be awarded by the City to the bidders achieving the second highest score. The secondary contractor will provide a back-up role on occasions where the primary contractor is unable to meet project timescales. N.B. There will be no competition between these 2 distinct roles. Scotland's National Arena. The Contracting Authority has appointed a contractor to undertake the construction of the new National Arena for Scotland. This innovative building will have a gross internal floor area of 27 500 m² and provide seating for 12 500 people. The procurement route is two stage traditional with elements of contractor design. The Contracting Authority has awarded a separate advance works contract for piling, substructure (including pile caps, floor slabs, lit pits, service tunnels and ducts) and underslab drainage and utilities works. The advance works were completed in December 2010, and have been incorporated within the main works package as a sub-contract.
