The London Borough of Barnet's department for Adult Social Services is seeking suitably qualified and experienced organisations to express an interest in being considered for participation in a tender process to provide an Intensive Supported Living Service. The service will be for up to fourteen people, across a number of sites, most of whom will be moving back to the local community following an extensive period living on an NHS Campus. The individuals concerned display high levels of challenge to services and have developed ritualistic and institutionalised behaviours over their many years in segregated services. They have a range of diagnoses, with most displaying Autism Spectrum Conditions, in addition to some physical and sensory impairments and mental health disabilities. The service users reflect the diverse background of residents in the borough and bidders will be required to demonstrate evidence of meeting diverse needs The successful bidder will also need to evidence a proven track record in proactively supporting people with Autism and Challenging Behaviours in a community setting. There would be an expectation that the provider will coordinate a structured and consistent holistic 24-hour support plan for each individual, including an active programme of day opportunities, in line with the Enablement focus adopted by Adult Social Services in Barnet. A key driver for learning disabilities services is the principles included in Valuing People Now. As such, narec would like to offer applicants the opportunity to undertake the delivery aspect of a range of suitable working at height courses using purpose built training facilities at the Blyth site and its existiing facilities at Narec's Clothier Laboratories in Hebburn. Narec would like those who submit to tender to consider the range of courses that they feel they could offer. Narec would like to develop a wide range of courses to suit the wider needs of the market and therefore is interested to learn how applicants feel they can cater for training across this broad base.
