UK-Cambridge: tomography devices
MTC-50A-CTS CT System. The MTC is undergoing research within various fields including automation, joining, fixturisation and net shaping technologies to name but a few. Within the facility there will be a modern Metrology laboratory, which will be primarily used to undertake measurement in support of the research, but can also be used for research in its own right. As part of the equipment strategy for the department, a Computed Tomography (CT) system is required. The CT scanner will be used to measure internal features on 'components' such as wax Turbine blades and wax cast assemblies. In the case of blade patterns the process of measurement will require the scanner to measure wall and web thicknesses from a number of sections on the aerofoil and root geometry to allow component sentencing. This specification is aimed at purchasing a single CT scanner for use in the laboratory. It should be clear that this specification is aimed at a system for measuring wax patterns and components. Within the Metrology area a separate machine will eventually be required to measure internal forms of components such as metallic single crystal, nickel-based turbine blades. The details of the research programmes are not yet fully defined and as such, full details of all measurement attributes, including features, sizes, weights, tolerances, and surface finishes are not yet known. MTC-50B-CTS CT System. The MTC is undergoing research within various fields including automation, joining, fixturisation and net shaping technologies to name but a few. The process of measurement will require the scanner to measure wall and web thicknesses from a number of sections on the aerofoil and root geometry to allow component sentencing. This specification is aimed at purchasing a single CT scanner for use in the laboratory. It should be recognised that the MTC is not a profit making research facility, and therefore the facility will provide a good 'shop window' for suppliers. Responses are welcome from the Supplier for additional equipment items, both in production and development that may enhance the capability and profile of the metrology department at the MTC. It is expected that suppliers will provide long term support for the equipment at limited or no cost including, application engineering, CNC programming and upgrades. It should be clear that this specification is aimed at a system for measuring metallic components. Within the Metrology area a separate machine will be required to measure internal forms of components such as wax patterns. If the Supplier response outlines an option for a dual source machine, the differences should be clearly identified, and identified as options. The details of the research programmes are not yet fully defined and as such, full details of all measurement attributes, including features, sizes, weights, tolerances, and surface finishes are not yet known. UK-Cambridge: measuring and control equipment
MTC-114-LCMM Coordinate Measuring Machine. The MTC is undergoing research within various fields including automation, joining, fixturisation and net shaping technologies to name but a few. Within the facility there will be a modern Metrology laboratory, which will be primarily used to undertake measurement in support of the research, but can also be used for research in its own right. As part of the equipment strategy for the department, a 'large' coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is required. The CMM will be used to measure commodities such as Aero Engine Casings. The details of the research programmes are not yet fully defined and as such, full details of all measurement attributes, including features, sizes, weights, tolerances, and surface finishes are not yet known. This specification is aimed at purchasing a single CMM for use in the laboratory. It should be recognised that the MTC is not a profit making research facility, and therefore the facility will provide a good 'shop window' for suppliers. Within the facility there will be a modern Metrology laboratory, which will be primarily used to undertake measurement in support of the research, but can also be used for research in its own right. As part of the equipment strategy for the department, a 'small' coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is required. The CMM will be used to measure commodities such as Turbine blades and cast assemblies. The details of the research programmes are not yet fully defined and as such, full details of all measurement attributes, including features, sizes, weights, tolerances, and surface finishes are not yet known.
