Supply of Impact Resistant Grit Bins for Hampshire County Council owned land & highways. Hampshire County Council is seeking to purchase a minimum of 600 grit bins intially which will be required no later than 31.10.2011. Tenderers are required to confirm that they can meet this timescale. The maximum volume of grit bins which may be ordered during the course of the framework, for distribution and installation around the county (excluding Motorways, Trunk Roads and the cities of Southampton and Portsmouth) will be capped at 4 000 units. Hampshire County Council cannot however guarantee this, or any, volume under this framework (apart from the initial 600 units). The framework is to include the manufacture, supply, delivery and installation of grit bins which may be called off as and when required for a period of up to four years from commencement of the framework. Each grit bin is required to be manufactured from impact resistant UV stabilised Medium Density Polythene (MDPE) with a stainless steel (or equivalent) hinge and double skinned lid. The material used should be capable of resisting the effects of the contained material without significant deflection, distortion or splitting. The capacity of each bin must be no less than 350 litres with an anticipated maximum of 450 litres. Bins should be manufactured with a view to ease of stacking and should be designed to be moved by fork-lift. The bins are to be manufactured in Dark Blue (RAL 5003) Pantone 5395 colour, or EU equivalent, with the following logo integrally heat moulded onto the upper surface of the lid (Self adhesive stickers shall NOT to be considered as an alternative option).
