UK-Salford: network cabling
Structured Cabling. The Supplier(s) is/ are the Tenderer(s) whose Tender is accepted in whole or in part by the CPC and who undertakes to accept orders for goods or services within the terms of the Tender from the participating Institutions and Consortia. It is a requirement of the Tender that the selected Supplier(s) will extend the terms to all eligible Institutions and Consortia, as defined by the CPC including Further Education institutions, Sixth Forms, Academies, Schools, Museums and other similar organisations. The tender is also available for The University of Salford & other Higher Education institutions via our colleagues in other Consortia. As per our joint contracting programme other bodies that may potentially be interested in accessing the agreement include NWUPC (North West Universities Purchasing Consortium), NEUPC (North East Universities Purchasing Consortium), LUPC (London Universities Purchasing Consortium), and WFEPC (Welsh Further Education Purchasing Consortium). The CPC reserves the right during the period of this agreement to make additions to or subtractions from the list of participating Institutions and Consortia. About the Structured Cabling Framework Agreement. Summary of requirement. The CPC intends to put a framework agreement in place with suitable manufactures and resellers which will offer additional benefits through collaborative and innovative partnerships with our members. The framework agreement will be for the supply of a wide range of Cat 5e, 6e & 7 structured data cabling, voice & data, fibre optic cabling, cabinets, ducting, patch panels, wiring and a range of associated services & equipment, to be purchased continuously and in varying quantities during the contract period. All members heavily rely on having a robust ICT infrastructure/environment. Besides the CPC members provide ICT equipment such as desktops computer solutions monitors, laptops, internet devices, software and licences and a range of services to all staff, members also procure IT infrastructure hardware and installation and maintenance services as many have large build projects or refurbishment projects under way. The CPC member institutions are currently operating a variety of ICT equipment incorporating Windows, Linux, Netware, Unix, Mac OS and other Open- Source operating systems to meet the needs of the services they provide. The CPC members spend on ICT through the current CPC framework agreements over the last 3 years was in excess of 139 000 000 GBP. This spend covers desktops, laptops, notebooks also networking hardware and services, data cabling and telecommunications equipment and services and software and licences. We anticipate use of the framework by members to increase as membership continues to grow. Please note that this framework agreement does not include Networking Hardware and Services. These requirements will be tendered in Q2 of 2011. The purpose of this framework agreement is to give full EU cover and allow CPC members to purchase at a substantial and demonstrable discount relative to the marketplace throughout the term of the framework agreement.
