UK-Portsmouth: refuse and waste related services
IOW Waste Management Service. The Isle of Wight NHS Primary Care Trust (Contracting Authority), Isle of Wight Council (Office Accommodation sites only), Hampshire Constabulary (IOW sites only) and Portsmouth Hospitals Trust (Fort Southwick offices only) are seeking to appoint a service provider to deliver an integrated Waste Management Service. There are six core areas which will be tendered in lots for a number of sites. The Contracting Authority's preference is to award to one prime contractor but reserves the right to award to more than one supplier, where this is economically and/or financially more advantageous. Suppliers invited to Tender will be asked to submit proposals on how to assist with challenging targets for increasing recycled waste and improving the current carbon footprint. In addition, the beneficiaries will be looking for continued initiatives to reduce costs throughout the life of the contract. The initial contract term will be for 5 years with the option to extend the contract for up to a further 2 years after the initial contract period. The two year extension will be extended as two 12 month terms at the the sole discretion of the Contracting Authority and with agreement of all the beneficiaries. International Preparedness Programme. Scottish Enterprise is the Scottish Government's Economic Development Agency covering Lowland Scotland. Its' prime aims are helping Scotland become more globally competitive; supporting companies that will drive the economy forward by creating more and better jobs; working with sectors where Scotland has advantages that can be exploited within the global marketplace; and building a world class business environment which supports growth and attracts investment. Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) is the Scottish Government's economic and community development agency which shares the same aims as SE and provides services for a geographically and economically diverse region which covers more than half of Scotland. Scottish Development International (SDI) is the international arm of Scottish Enterprise (SE), Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and the Scottish Government (SG) providing services to support international trade and inward investment for the whole of Scotland government agency which attracts inward investment from overseas companies into Scotland. SE and HIE are seeking to appoint a maximum of 5 suppliers to a joint Framework Agreement to deliver their International Preparedness Programme (IPP) to businesses across Scotland. This agreement will be in place from 6 October 2011 for a period of 3 years with an option to extend for a further 12 months. IPP will form part of the European Social Fund (ESF) Smart Exporter programme, a partnership project between SDI, HIE and the Scottish Chambers of Commerce designed to expand exporting knowledge and stimulate exporting activity in Scotland. As such successful bidders will be required to use ESF compliant documentation and processes. During the timeframe of the Framework Agreement the overall design of IPP will be submitted for a credit rating against the Scottish Qualifications Credit Framework. This submission may involve changes to the quality assurance and evaluation processes involved in administering the programme. The IPP offers 3 levels of support depending on how experienced the company is in the area of international trade: IPP - Introductory assists companies new to exporting to prepare for the first stages of internationalisation. The programme takes them through a series of 3 modules over a maximum of 2 months covering the key elements of preparing to trade internationally. IPP – Standard assists companies taking the first steps in implementing international business and takes them through a series of 12 modules over a maximum of 4 months covering all aspects of implementing international trade. IPP - Advanced assists companies who may already be trading internationally to prepare for enhancement and augmentation of their international business and takes them through a series of 6 in-depth modules over a maximum of 3 months, covering the key aspects of expanding existing international business. The Framework Agreement will be let on a call-off basis as one Lot with no guaranteed level of commissions for any supplier on the Framework. All suppliers must be able to deliver all 3 levels across the entire SDI/HIE geographical area.
