Below 7Barg network management. Wales & West Utilities Limited (WWU) is a licensed Gas Distribution Network (GDN) providing gas transportation services in the UK. We cover 1/6th of the UK land mass and deliver to over 2 400 000 supply points. As part of the gas transportation process, WWU owns and operates a population of approximately 2 900 district pressure regulating installations operating at inlet pressures of up to 7 bar. The function of these assets is to ensure adequate, but not excessive pressure is passed to downstream systems and gas consumers. WWU uses data logger and pressure management systems in order to manage and record pressures, some of which are linked to alarms, to remotely monitor the performance of assets and collect data on pressure in relation to time etc. WWU proposes to replace and extend the use of monitoring and pressure control equipment and is seeking suppliers that may offer appropriate solutions. Equipment must provide accurate responses, be capable of operating in gaseous atmospheres, be intrinsically safe and present low whole life costing. In addition, the system used to communicate data either one way but preferable 2 ways must be an internationally recognised data system for current and or future system integration.
