UK-Edinburgh: insurance services
EC0490 Insurance Services for Student Residents of University Accommodation. The University of Edinburgh is a teaching and research institution with a current total of around 25 000 full-time students. The total number of residential places (beds) currently managed by the University's Accommodation Services division is just under 6 250, of which 1 934 places are within the main catered Halls of Residence campus at Pollock Halls. The majority of other places are located within flats throughout mostly the "central area" of Edinburgh surrounding the University; the majority of flats are University owned, but some are leased on both long term and short term leases. All accommodation is covered by a 24 hour security service, operated by a specific Accommodation Service team based at Pollock Halls and supported as appropriate by central University security colleagues. The University is inviting tenders for the provision of insurance for the possessions of occupants. This insurance will be mandatory for the occupants and costs will be incorporated into rental payments. The University will remit the premium, net of that representing void/unused rooms, directly to the provider of the insurance service quarterly or, subject to agreement and potential savings to the University, on a different frequency. Cover must be provided throughout periods of occupancy at each residential location. Typically, occupancy periods are standard for individual residences; some residential contracts for new undergraduates are for 37 weeks (catered) and some are for 38 weeks (self-catered). New post-graduates are normally accommodated for 51 weeks, while returning students are normally offered accommodation for 52 weeks. A full analysis of present occupancies appears in the ITT, although it is emphasised that changes to the usage profile can and will occur as the programme of residence refurbishment, acquisition and disposal progresses. Currently, the total number of residential places is targeted to increase slightly from year to year across the period of this agreement. The University provides a wide range of security provision across all locations; these include CCTV, door entry (including phone) access systems and a 24 hour security staff and control presence located at Pollock Halls, the largest single accommodation location. SE-Stockholm: social research services
Reality Checks in Mali. Introduction. The general objective of Reality Checks is to contribute to an effective implementation of the Swedish Cooperation Strategy in Mali. The purpose is to provide continuous, structured and documented information on people living in poverty´s perspectives on and perceptions of poverty, development and access to services. The Reality Check is a tool and a means to listen to, analyze, demonstrate and disseminate perspectives on development of people living in poverty. The disseminated material will inform the strategy guided dialogue in particular and guide operations in terms of contribution management. The results will be used within the framework of a political dialogue within Sida, as strategy development and strategic choices in the daily work, and in the dialogue with Malian partners. Through the dialogue with Mali and other donors, the results and discussions around Reality Checks will additionally provide people living in poverty with a channel to express their voices, albeit indirectly. The Reality Checks will be undertaken by a consultant. Sida will take on a role as objective and neutral as possible when visiting the villages, participating during debates and then using the results for dialogues. The approach is based on a longterm perspective with annual field-based qualitative studies in the same villages during the same periods of the year during 2011-2016. This makes it possible to observe and understand changes and processes over time. For a sustainable and credible study it is a necessity to create a deliberative and consultative relation with the communities that are part of the study. A system of debates around each annual study within visited communities will be put in place in order for them to be able to give feedback on the conclusions and also to be able to use these conclusions to create and enable dialogue and discussion within the villages or between the villages and local authorities. Two general themes; poverty dynamics and service delivery, have been chosen by the Embassy to govern the Reality Checks in Mali. The general themes will be approached through the specific theme of natural resources; a theme that can be divided into sub-categories such as access to water, access to land, forest management, etc. These sub-categories will be given different importance according to the characteristics and the priorities in each region included in the study. Questions regarding contract documents must be directed to ylva.schwinn@foreign.ministry.se no later than 14 days before the last date to tender. A compilation of relevant questions and answers will be published on Sidas website, www.sida.se under Procurements 'Kommers Annons'. CPV: 79315000. ...
