FirstBuy. This is a voluntary OJEU notice lodged by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) as part of Affordable Homes programme. The HCA is seeking proposals from developers in relation to its new initiative, 'FirstBuy', which forms part of the UK Government's HomeBuy range of affordable home ownership products. FirstBuy is a new equity loan product, which has been designed to help people access home ownership. FirstBuy aims to make new build homes on a range of selected schemes available to eligible purchasers who are unable to purchase a home at an affordable rate without assistance. Eligible purchasers who need assistance to buy will be offered an equity loan of up to 20 % of the purchase price. The equity loan will be co-funded by the developer and the HCA, and potential bidders should note that it is an absolute requirement of the programme that developers must provide matched-funding equity. The maximum property price that will be considered for FirstBuy is 300 000 GBP. Purchasers will be required to raise funding of at least 80 % of the purchase price. 210 000 000 GBP has been made available to the HCA to support this initiative and the scheme is designed to help over 10 000 eligible purchasers into affordable home ownership over 2011-2013.
