Contract number 1011-292 Office Furniture Framework. Islington Council invites suitable expressions of interest from suppliers to provide office furniture as part of a framework agreement. Current status. The borough has entered a period of unexpected asset and building disposals. As departments move to different buildings, and storage requirements change to accommodate this, more furniture is required. Islington Council is seeking to procure office furniture for offices across the borough as part of the space maximisation project. The requirement. The council requires a supplier who can provide innovative solutions to maximise space within specific budgetary requirements. Primary types of furniture to be procured include desks, chairs, tambour units and lockers. The furniture will be procured for existing council offices; it is unlikely that furniture will be procured for newly acquired buildings. The borough expects to spend a minimum of 120 000 GBP per year across a four year period. The total value of the framework is 0 GBP-1 000 000 GBP to allow for other London boroughs to join the framework. It is anticipated that no London borough will individually spend more than 150 000 GBP per annum on the framework, and will not spend outside of the total value of the framework. This is a framework agreement and the council will not guarantee any volume of work to any provider on the framework. The council will shortlist a maximum of five candidates submitting pre-qualification questionnaires to go forward to tender stage, and is seeking to appoint one provider to the framework. Maritime Equipment Systems has a future requirement for the supply, manufacture, and provision of technical assistance services for Replenishment at Sea (RAS) hoses used for the transfer of fuels, oils and water between Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) and Royal Navy (RN) ships. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate competence and experience with the manufacture and most importantly type testing of RAS hoses iaw MoD Defstan 22-94. This will include the requirements associated with the harsh environments that the equipment is exposed to worldwide. The equipment will include, but is not necessarily limited to; — 2.5" – 7" diameter hoses — end fittings — hose accessories to include seals and protective caps. Reading Borough Council invites expressions of interest from suitably experienced companies who wish to tender for the design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of cremators and filtration system at it's crematorium facility in Reading, Berkshire. The Council's crematorium facility is based at Henley Road Cemetery, All Hallows Road, Caversham. It is situated in the north of Reading and is Reading's only crematorium and has been established since 1932. The service currently carries out approximately 1,600 cremations annually using the 3 existing TABO machines which were installed in 1995. Further to Guidance note AQ1 (05) which was issued in January 2005 by the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), the authority is looking to deal with mercury abatement by way of the filtration of 100 % of all cremations performed at Henley Road Crematorium. The authority has concluded that in light of these requirements it would be a suitable time to replace the current cremators, which were installed in 1995, and which are no longer functioning to their original potential. The new cremators and filtration plant will be required to be fully commissioned and operational by July 2012. The successful supplier will also be required to enter into a 10 year maintenance contract for the maintenance of the new cremators and mercury abatement equipment. Expeditionary Campaign Infrastructure - The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has an Urgent Operational Requirement for a re-deployable dust suppression surfacing which can be used on remote helicopter landing sites on current operations. The solution must be: — capable of withstanding the loads imposed by in-service helicopters both point loads and down wash loadings (10 marks), — resistant and durable to environment elements, UV light and chemicals associated with military vehicles and aircraft (5 marks), — resistant and durable to the transit of pedestrians & wheeled vehicles over it (5 marks), — deployed or recovered quickly with the minimum of manpower or mechanical handling equipment (5 marks), — easily transported using in-service military land platforms and support helicopter (5 marks), — laid over the helicopter landing site on ground which has received the minimum preparation (5 marks), — contractors are required to provide securing arrangements and fixings for the deployed solution which copes with desert ground types (5 marks), — have a minimal Logistic footprint (5 marks), — sizes for helicopter landing sites can vary. The suppression surfacing must conform to the safety hazard envelope of in-service helicopters. Sizes are not always square in shape and it is dependent on the geographical location. A solution which allows flexibility and redeployment to other sites is desirable (10 marks), — initial quantity up to 60 Helicopter Landing Sites with additional options for future years. Contractors down selected to ITT will be required to supply, free of charge, one off, full size system for trialling and destructive testing which will take place in June/July 2011.
