Election equipment for use in the municipalities. The aim of the procurement is to enter into a framework agreement with manufacturers who can provide election equipment to the country's 430 municipalities. The election equipment consists of polling booths, ballot boxes and a sign programme which municipalities can order and use for holding the election. The equipment is developed and tested through a design contest arranged in co-operation with Norsk Form. Municipalities can be divided into several election constituencies for elections. There shall be one polling station on the election day in each constituency. Each polling station is to have polling booths, ballot boxes and signs. The number of polling booths and ballot boxes in each polling station is determined by each municipality and it depends on how many voters there are for each polling station. This will vary between the polling stations. The number of polling stations that are established in each municipality will vary with the size of the municipality. On election day approx. 3 000 polling stations will be established nationwide. In addition there will be polling stations for voting in advance. Each municipality is responsible for adapting and holding the actual voting. Ballot boxes are to be used for votes given in institutions and votes given at voters' homes (ambulant votes) in the period when advance votes can be given. The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development is entering into the framework agreements on behalf of the municipalities. The municipalities have the right, but not a duty to make call-offs on the contracts.
