It is a requirement of the Data Protection Act that organizations who are responsible for the security of personal information should dispose of this information in a secure and confidential manner. Wirral Council takes its obligations regarding the management, use and secure disposal of confidential information and personal details very seriously. The Council is seeking a single supplier to cater for its confidential waste disposal and confidential waste recycling requirements. This supplier will demonstrate exemplary practices, policies and procedures in the collection, transit, and confidential disposal of waste from a number of Council sites across the Borough, which meet the relevant standards to which the Council subscribes (British and international standards and relevant legislation). The supplier's high degree of professionalism and clear understanding of information security issues will be complemented by a flexible and accommodating approach to Wirral Council's business needs. It is expected that the supplier will also be able to give assurances as to the destination of Wirral Council's waste product, preferably to a local recycler, and ideally to a recycler producing products which the Council itself currently consumes. As a result of this Wirral Council are seeking to implement a corporate contract with a reputable company to securely collect, dispose of and recycle its confidential waste. This contract is to commence on 1.11.2011 for a period of 3 years, with an option for two further extensions, each extension period for up to 1 year. This contract is primarily for delivery of goods or services to council establishments in Wirral. The United Kingdom (UK) Ministry of Defence (MoD) operates a Single Point Mooring (SPM) refuelling facility and associated infrastructure at Mare Harbour in the Falkland Islands (FI). To ensure the continued reliability of the infrastructure there is a requirement for a contractor to provide equipment and qualified personnel to conduct the maintenance, pressure testing, pigging, repair, inspection and certification of the SPM, associated pipelines, local Oil Spill response equipment and infrastructure. Whilst innovative maintenance solutions will be considered, the successful contractor will be required to provide offshore fuelling expertise, HSE commercial diving equipment and divers. Whilst primarily being used to undertake the inspection and repair of the SPM the dive team may be required to undertake the inspection and repair of marine structures in the South Atlantic Islands. There may also be a requirement for the dive team to be able to undertake the underwater inspections, repairs and classification society surveys of MoD and commercially owned ships.
