Contract for the supply of drugs and placebos for a multi-centre international study (FOR-DMD). Acting as the agent of the University of Rochester (USA), the Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust has a requirement for the supply of drugs and placebos for a international multi-centre, patient randomized, double-blind controlled paediatric trial comparing 3 active corticosteroid regimes over 3 to 5 years treatment in boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (FOR-DMD). The study will involve 300 patients across centres in UK, USA, Canada, Italy, Germany and potentially 6 other European Countries. Bidders will be required (as part of their tender submission) to provide a timeline to the Trust. The successful contractor will be required to acquire, package, label and provide the drugs and placebos in identical format by over encapsulating or other means. One of the drugs may require importation and then exportortation by the contractor who will also be required to produce the investigational medicinal product dossier (IMPD), investigator brouchure (or equivalent required for US submission for regulation approval), assist with the clinical trials authorisation (CTA) request to the appropriate authorities to provide the necessary stability data and QC checks and to acquire, package, label, store and distribute the drug products to the participating centres over a 3 to 5 year period.
