RCUK SSC Ltd, acting as agents on behalf of the NERC, are seeking an organisation to host the BESS Directorate function for the duration of 6 years (2011-2016). It is expected that the contract will start in January 2011. The Directorate will be responsible for driving and integrating the scientific, knowledge exchange, data management and communications aspects of the programme. It is expected that the Directorate will be hosted by an organisation with sufficient institutional capacity to support the Directorate and the activities required of it. The Directorate will be led by a Director, and will be sufficiently staffed by a suitably skilled team in order to deliver the required functions of the Directorate as set out in this document. Posts will be on a part-time basis, with the Director position at 0.5 FTE.
