Support of the digital electronic control unit (DECU) fitted to the T55-L-712F and T55-L-714A Chinook Engines. Repair and maintenance services of aircraft engines. Repair and maintenance services of helicopters. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) Helicopter Engines Project Team (HEPT) has a requirement for the provision of support for the digital electronic control unit (DECU) fitted to the Chinook helicopter platform, as part of the engine's full authority digital electronic control (FADEC) system. The period of contract is for 15 months plus an option for a one year extension. The Chinook helicopter entered service in the early 1980s and has an endorsed out of service date (OSD) of 2040. The current fleet size is 46 airframes. All airframes have 2 engines (either T55-L-712F or 55-L-714A) and each engine has a FADEC consisting of a full authority digital electronic control (FADEC) part of which is the DECU (Pt Nos 2-170-560-05 or 2-170-560-09). The required support solution for the DECU variants shall include but not be limited to: repair and overhaul, upgrades as required and fault investigation. The authority invites expressions of interest from potential providers who may offer all of the above services. Suppliers shall prefferably hold BS EN ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100 accreditation (or equivalent quality assurance standard), and shall be capable of performing licensed repair and overhaul support to the above stated digital electronic control units. Suppliers shall comply with the following quality assurance and defence standard publications: AQAP 2120 Edn 3 (NATO quality assurance requirements for design, development and production), AQAP 2105 Edn 2 NATO requirements for deliverable quality plans), Defstan 05-61 Pt 1 Issue 5, Defstan 05-61 Part 9 Issue 4, Defstan 05-123 part 4 Issue 2, Defstan 05-123 Part 5 Issue 2, Stanag 4107 Edn 8, Defstan 602A, Defcon 694.
