Study on disqualifications as a sanctioning measure in the national systems of the Member States. The study aims at providing a better understanding of the nature of the provisions on disqualifications in national sanctioning systems, both criminal and non-criminal. The objective is to get a comprehensive view of the legal framework in this area in all 27 Member States. Some earlier work has been done in this field, in particular the communication from the Commission to the Council and to the European Parliament on the disqualifications arising from criminal convictions in the European Union. The aim of the study is to provide the necessary elements and analysis for future development in the field.
