Aintree University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust together with Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals are seeking a business provider for the provision of a pathology managed service contract. The Trusts are looking for a bidder who can act as a primary supplier of major pieces of equipment and consumables from other 3rd party suppliers under said contract. The preferred supplier will be expected to contribute to the ongoing business planning and development activity, contribute to our extensive training and education program and assist in advising best practise. Both trusts currently operate a comprehensive pathology service based on each site independently, the contract would initially be sited within the current accomodation and space available, therefore the ability to have a solution fit for purpose is essential. Both trusts are currently in the confines of re-development wtihing the current Merseyside Pathology Network which is likely to change over time and have an impact on the offers made, therefore in accordance with Regulation 14 (d) (i) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2006, the Trust may require the successful economic operator to carry out additional work or provide additional services which through unforeseen circumstances become necessary and cannot for technical or economic reasons be carried out separately from the original contract or could be carried separately but are strictly necessary to the later stages of the performance of the contract. 117/MVT gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) The supply, installation and commissioning of a Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) facility at the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (Nuclear AMRC), Rotherham, UK. This is a one off purchase from a grant by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) which is match funded by a grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The equipment is aimed at establishing a world-class GTAW welding capability for the joining of both thin and thick structures for nuclear applications. The facility should be capable of welding carbon steels, quench & tempered alloy steels, ferritic and austenitic stainless steels, and Ni/Ti superalloys, using single and multiple wires within the thickness range of approximately 0.8-300 mm, for a wide range of applications. In achieving this specification, the process will be capable of operating in multiple modes, e.g. manually, semi-automatically or automatically for both standard and narrow gap weld joints defined within ISO 9692-1. This machine will be used for conventional, narrow groove and orbital welding of plates, vessels and components in low alloy steels, stainless steels and nickel-based alloys, and shall be capable of performing the following operations: Circumferential deep-penetration welds; Non axi-symmetrical welds on thick sections; and. Tube-to-tube sheet welding for heat exchanger applications. The equipment must be capable of providing the following: Complete high-quality fusion welds in both conventional joint geometry defined by ISO 9692-1 and narrow groove weldments with inclusive angles between 2-10 deg, encompassing circumferential, longitudinal, planetary and orbital forms; A narrow groove capability of up to 400 mm depth; and. It must also be capable of being adapted to deposit weld metal in the 1G/1F/PA, 2G/2F/PB, 3G-up/3F-up/PF, 3G-down/3F-Down/PG, and 4G/PE positions.
