Managed service for the provision of a range of bariatric equipment. Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking expressions of interest in providing a managed service for the provision of a range of bariatric equipment. The service will optimise patients' pathway of care whether routine or emergency admission, ongoing inpatient care or care of the deceased patient. The number of bariatric patients requiring equipment to support their care will be a maximum of 30, at any one time. The range of equipment required is listed below and must have a minimum safe working load of 300Kg, unless otherwise stated: — Low level profiling bedframe, — Pressure reducing surface to be compatible with the low profiling bedframe and Contour 1 080 bedframe, — Low air loss and rotational therapy system: an integrated mattress and bedframe system or surface compatible with bariatric bedframe, — Hovertech system, — Transfer chair/trolley, — Powered patient trolley, — Riser recliner chair with pressure reducing seating surface, — Static chair with pressure reducing support surface, — Twin Gantry system (minimum safe working load 500kg) with appropriate range of slings for patient transfer and rehabilitation, — Shower commode, — Walking frame. All equipment provided is required to be CE marked and comply with appropriate British and European standards. The Trust is also interested in the provider managing the Trust's existing Bariatric equipment. The service required includes the delivery, installation and collection of equipment, the provision of decontamination following patient use, and planned preventative maintenance and repair. Bariatric manual handling advice, and the training and education of staff both in the use of, and selection of all equipment provided is also required. Training and support will need to be provided at the point of care when equipment is initially delivered and installed, and ongoing to support changes in staff due to normal, working shift patterns. In addition the Trust is also looking for the provision of structured, pre-planned training sessions. Equipment provided must be appropriate for its intended use, decontaminated, well maintained, complete and fully operational. The request and delivery service, with training at the point of installation and ongoing support thereafter, will be required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A response time of 2 hours is required from the time of request to the time of receipt by the clinical area. Other than a limited amount of equipment required to support an emergency admission, the storage and decontamination is to be located off site by the service provider. The equipment is required to be tracked, monitored, recorded and managed by the provider whilst in use. The period of the contract: - options of 5, 7 and 10 years are being considered.
