Raasay House - Design & Build Tender. In January 2009, just prior to the completion of a 15 month extensive refurbishment, Raasay House, a large Grade A listed house, on the island of Raasay in the Inner Hebrides, was extensively damaged by fire. Loss adjusters have been appointed by the respective arms of the insurers, and the House is now part of a major insurance claim. The rebuilding of the House following the fire, commenced in the form of an initial structural stabilisation contract, which was concluded in April 2010. Following the stabilisation works, a much larger contract was awarded to the contractor to rebuild and complete the House. The rebuilding works for the House commenced in the summer of 2010. However, in November 2010, the Contractor undertaking the rebuilding works entered into voluntary administration and appointed Administrators who suspended the contract, leaving the House in an incomplete state.
