UK-London: public relations consultancy services
2491 olympic campaign-National Lottery promotions unit The National Lottery launched in 1994 and has so far raised over 25 billion GBP for good causes – that's over 28 000 000 GBP every week. The money raised from lottery games is distributed across seven areas: the arts, sport, heritage, charities and voluntary organisations, health, education, the environment. There are currently 13 lottery distributors. To date over 350 000 grants have been awarded to projects across the UK. These range from large-scale iconic projects such as Wembley Stadium, the British Museum and the Eden Project, to smaller, community and grassroots initiatives. To find out more, visit www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk. The National Lottery Promotions Unit's (NLPU) main objective is to raise positive public awareness of the projects and organisations that the lottery funds and to inform players about the positive difference that Lottery funding is making to the UK. It works alongside, and in partnership with, DCMS, the National Lottery Commission, the lottery distributors and the current lottery operator Camelot. Legally, the NLPU is part of the Big Lottery Fund, hence this procurement process being managed by the Big Lottery Fund. However, agencies should be clear that this brief is for the NLPU and not for the Big Lottery Fund. The NLPU is looking to engage a supplier with specialist sports knowledge to develop a creative PR programme to form part of its Olympic campaign. The main thrust of the service requirement is as follows: The Unit delivers a number of creative PR vehicles to raise positive public perception of the good causes and to educate lottery players about where their money has been spent. Sport has been transformed by lottery funding, and from 2004-December 2010, the NLPU successfully ran a campaign to highlight this. 2012 will see the UK host the world's greatest sporting event as the olympic games and paralympic games come to London, and our unique partnership with London 2012 places National Lottery players at the heart of it as the Olympic and Paralympic Games cross all areas of lottery funding. The National Lottery is investing up to 2.2 billion GBP into the infrastructure and legacy for the games and elite athletes/support structures. There is also significant lottery investment into non-sport sectors through the cultural olympiad. Our London 2012 campaign will need to tell the whole story of lottery players' investment in London 2012 and its legacy. The Unit is looking for a supplier with specialist sports knowledge to offer us PR support with this campaign – highlighting the Lottery's investment into London 2012 and its legacy, from grassroots to elite level sport, and the Olympic park itself. We would also welcome creative ideas connected to the cultural olympiad as the agency may work on some of the cultural olympiad strands. The service provider must have a demonstrable successful track record of providing similar services of the type and value describe under this OJEU notice. The Big Lottery Fund is the contracting authority responsible for the tendering and management of this contract. The budget for the contract, including all fees, costs, and day to day expenses, to be between £210,000- £249,000 (including VAT). The NLPU is looking to appoint a supplier to provide the services/goods. The Contract will be for a period of 16 months commencing by June/July 2011 with the option to extend for a further 12 months. Should you wish to express an interest in this procurement, please read and follow the instructions in III.2.1 conditions for participation of this OJEU notice. The closing date for completion of PQQ's is 14th March 2011 at 12 noon. CPV: 79416200. ...
