Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust (the Trust) currently relies on a combination of whiteboards, paper sheets and verbal communication to manage patient flow. Departments/wards are reliant upon verbal messages via patient flow coordinators. Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust (PHT) has agreed to purchase an Electronic patient management system (EPMS), including an Emergency department (ED) system the ED system is to include medical assessment. The ED system can be either part of or integrated with the overall EPMS. The ED system is a priority and the Trust will be looking to implement this as soon as possible due to current operational pressures. The results of the tender process will shape how the contract is awarded. The Trust is seeking a solution that best matches its requirements.
