Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council take their responsibilities in providing facilities for the disabled very seriously and have always strived to deliver the service in a sensitive, efficient and effective way. The works comprise the carrying out of disabled adaptations at homes across the borough of Doncaster. Works included as part of the contract are varied in content ranging from the supply and installation of grab rails to assist with bathing, toileting and access to dwellings to the more complex works such as extensive internal remodelling for wheelchair accessibility. The installation of level access showers and over bath showers is a major element of the contract. With works of this nature, it will be necessary in certain cases for contractors to liaise closely with occupational therapists and other health and technical professionals in order to achieve successful outcomes. Contractors should note that all adaptations delivered under this contract are to properties with occupants in residence.
