MBRs are to be introduced to the T23 Frigate fleet in a phased approach with four in number vessels currently planned to be fitted during the period from beginning of 2011 through to the end of 2015. The requirement for the MBR in service within the Royal Navy vessels has been brought about by the requirements laid down by MARPOL 73/78 Annex IV and therefore the MBR will meet this specification. The MBR design has already been finalised and therefore the MoD are seeking a prime contractor to undertake project management activities, source and supply components and install each T23 MBR in accordance with the agreed design drawings and specifications which will be provided by the Ministry of Defence. Due to the T23 MBR design being finalised no Commercial off the Shelf solution will be considered suitable. The MBR will need to be built in situ due to the lack of space to transit any large individual item into the appropriate ship's space. It is envisaged that the successful contractor will be required to carry out as a minimum the following activities: — Plan and manage all activities necessary to supply, install, set to work and commission each MBR, — liaise and contract with experts and other stakeholders (i.e. dockyard staff).
