Working on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE), Government Procurement Service aims has established a framework agreement, in support of government educational strategies and policies, to enable educational institutions or a range of procurement authorities or their agents, to obtain specialist quality-assured educational ICT goods and services. This framework agreement follows on from the Becta ICT services framework let in 2010 and subsequently assigned to DfE ownership (contract notice 2010/S 43-063793) which started the process. This new framework agreement will provide customers with the option to obtain the services detailed below: 1 Information Management – services which will incorporate the ICT service managed provision of core elements of a management information system (MIS), either as a single MIS product/service or multiple elements combined to provide the core components in one integrated solution. There will be particular emphasisin ensuring that these services can share specific information with (at a minimum) the learning platform servicesthey provide; 2 Learning Services - this will cover the ICT service managed provision and integration of core components of learning platforms, either as a single learning platform product/service or multiple elements combined toprovide the core components in one integrated solution. There will be particular emphasis on ensuring thatthese services can share specific information with the management information system (MIS) in operation at the learning establishment (e.g. school, college, CLC, library).
