It is a sub-project in the LoCaRe project that is financially supported by European Regional Development Fund INTERREG 4 C. Lead sub-project participant in BIOMAP is Agroväst Livsmedel AB, Sweden. The other sub-project participants are The Association of Local Authorities in Skaraborg, Sweden, N.V. Ecinomische Impuls Zeeland, Holland and Centre for economical innovation and development (CISE), Italy. The main objective of the BIOMAP is to create three local web based market places where suppliers of biomass and the potential customers can interact and do business, leading to an increased production of bio energy (or other sustainable biomass applications e. g. in feed, food and pharmaceutics) in each participating region. The potential users of the market places are companies (especially SME´s) farmers, municipalities and local energy companies. The creation of the three local web based market places will create a strong supplier-demand chain among stakeholders who nor are used to do business with each other. The secondary objective is transnational knowledge exchange among the participants to strengthen the local energy market with experiences from other European countries.
