10/24 CDM Coordinator. Tamworth is situated in the southern part of the county of Staffordshire. Tamworth Borough Council owns and manages circa. 4500 domestic properties in the Tamworth area. We are due to enter into two contracts with effect from 1.4.2012 for works relating to the repairs, refurbishment and gas servicing of the rented housing stock. The key aim of these contracts is to ensure that Tamworth Borough Council fulfils its statutory obligations, meets the requirements of its tenants and satisfies the requirements of the Decent Homes Standards. The CDM co-ordinator will be responsible for providing advice on all matters relating to construction Health and Safety to both the clients and the contractors at all phases of the project commencing with the contractor procurement phase through to the issue of the Health and Safety manual at the end of the contract. The CDM co-ordinator will be required to advise the client project team on their obligations through the tender process, carry out checks on the contractor tender submissions and advise on the selection of an appropriate contractor based on their Health & Safety submission at tender stage. The CDM co-ordinator will be required to work with the client and contractor through the duration of the contract period and will be seen as a key member of the construction contract project team. The CDM co-ordinator is expected to ensure that Tamworth Borough Council is fully compliant with the CDM regulations at all times throughout the construction contract process by offering advice and those professional services usually expected of a CDM co-ordinator as defined by the CDM regulations. Standards for property maintenance and associated budgets shall be reviewed annually and so the estimated value of the contract may be subject to change. The contract period for the CDM co-ordinator services will commence during the construction phase tender process and will continue for a period of 5 years with the option to extend by a further 2 years.
