Inspection of drinking water 24-2012. Oslo municipality, Agency for water and sewerage works, henceforth referred to as the Awarding Authority is responsible for administration of waterways related to the water supply. The objective of the contract for inspection is to prevent contamination of the raw water and ensure that people complies with laws and regulations which apply for the restriction area. The Drinking Water regulations' §14 impose the Awarding Authority as waterway owner to ensure that measures are made for preventing danger of contamination of the drinking water. This shall be executed through protection of the water source in accordance with § 4. This includes prohibition of activities which "can cause danger" for contamination. This is based on a precautionary principle and not actual contamination of the drinking water.
