UK-Sheffield: repair and maintenance services of line telephony equipment
119/MH Telephone Hardware & Software Maintenance Contract. The University of Sheffield is out to tender on behalf of the Department of Corporate Information and Computing Services for a Telephone Hardware & Software Maintenance Contract. The contract will be for a two year period with the option of two times one year extensions, to a maximum of 4 years. Support is required for both Hardware and Software and is to include eligibility to software updates / new releases that occur within the contract period. The current core platform is an Avaya Communication Manager 5.2 running on two S8730 servers in duplication (see section 2.2 System Technical Specifications). The system is licensed for 12 000 stations with approximately 10 000 currently in use. The voice estate comprises of Analogue, Digital and IP (H.323) stations, with Digital being most prevalent though the IP Telephony estate is growing (approximately 1 000 stations at time of writing). Connectivity to the edge of the estate is provided over the University IP network and fibre links to 24 port networks and a number of Media Gateways. The University intends within the next 12 months to upgrade the core system to Communication Manager 6.x. or equivalent. These will include IP Desk phones, Softphones and SIP trunking. The process will require the updating or patching of current adjunct systems to ensure compatibility with the new platform. The envisaged solution is anticipated to involve the support and upgrade of our existing platform and hardware, however, offers based on alternative proposals will be considered. This tender is being run as a 2 stage process, a qualification stage (PQQ) with the intention to take between 5 and 8 potential service providers through to a tender stage (ITT). The closing date for return of pre-qualification questionnaires is Tuesday 6.3.2012 at 12 noon (UK time).
