UK-Liverpool: refuse and waste related services
Interim Waste Treatment Framework. The provision of services for treatment and diversion from landfill of up to 200,000 tonnes per annum of residual municipal solid waste ("MSW") collected by or on behalf of waste collection authorities in Merseyside or delivered to Household Waste Recycling Centres by the public and for which Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority ("MWDA") is responsible for disposal. MWDA, in partnership with five District Councils of Merseyside is engaged in implementing a long term joint waste management strategy to achieve or exceed the MSW recycling, recovery, and diversion from landfill targets established by the partnership. The implementation of the strategy requires new waste management facilities and services which MWDA is procuring through a series of service contracts. MWDA has already awarded contracts for the management of recyclables and compostables and for landfill disposal of MSW and is in the process of procuring a long term contract for the diversion of residual MSW from landfill: the "Resource Recovery Contract" (Contract Notice 2007/S 131-161090). It is anticipated that the services provided under the Resource Recovery Contract will commence in 2015. MWDA is now seeking to procure capacity at residual waste disposal facilities to divert residual MSW for the period up to the full commencement of the services under the Resource Recovery Contract. UK-Birmingham: sports facilities operation services
Sport and leisure facilities framework. Through the sport and leisure service Birmingham City Council strives to raise the quality of life and health of its citizens and to enhance its reputation as one of the UK's leading sporting cities. We want to work with organisations that support the Council's vision for an excellent leisure service. Birmingham City Council is undertaking a competitive dialogue process to identify organisations to be appointed to a framework agreement. The scope of this framework could comprise a mixture of the following provision in relation to any or all of the City's leisure related facilities: design, build, repair, refurbish, finance, operate and maintain. All contracts will need to be awarded within the framework period of 4 years but contracts placed under the framework may have a duration of between 10 and 15 years or less where appropriate. The first contract to be awarded through this framework will be the design, build, operate and maintain contract in relation to Sparkhill Pool and Fitness Centre. Under this procurement organisations will be required to participate actively in the economic and social regeneration of the locality surrounding the place of delivery. Accordingly contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. TUPE may apply to staff engaged in services which are the subject of contracts awarded under this framework agreement. UK-London: repair and maintenance services
Housing Repairs and Maintenance. A contract for repairs and maintenance to the Council's social housing stock, covering all building trades (including electrical, plumbing and heating installations) in occupied and unoccupied properties (voids). The contract will also cover general repairs and refurbishment schemes to the external envelope and common parts of buildings including the renewal of windows, roofs, structural repairs and underpinning. The contractor will also be required to deal with asbestos surveys and asbestos removal in both occupied and void properties. The contractor will be required to work with the Council and its in house provider (DLO) to improve processes and systems using systems thinking methodology under the 'right first time' project. The Contractor will be required to work with the in house provider to improve its procurement of materials and services and may be required to procure materials and some services jointly for itself and the in house provider. The contractor may also be required to co-locate some of its staff for this contract with the in-house provider at Council's premises to provide some of the services, this could include call handling. The contract will be awarded in relation to: 1. Internal repairs and minor communal repairs to Council owned housing in the Holborn District (approximately 3 000 properties); 2. Major communal repairs including those requiring leasehold consultation to all Council owned housing (approximately 33 000 properties); 3. Void works (a "key to key" voids service will be required) for all Council owned housing (approximately 1 000 voids per annum). The remainder of the housing repairs service (approximately 11 000 000 GBP per annum) will be delivered by the Council's in-house provider. IRL-Cobh: civil engineering consultancy services
Cobh Landslides Project: Phase 2. Cobh Town Council, as Contracting Authority and Employer, requires the services of a competent Consulting Engineer, with experience of Geotechnical Engineering Works related to Soil and Slope Stability, and the Structural Stability of Retaining Structures in environments similar to those found in Cobh, County Cork, Ireland. All of the proposed works are located within the administrative area of Cobh Town Council. The purpose of the project is the protection from landslides and wall collapses of people and property in Cobh and will involve the design and implementation of remedial works on critical rock slopes and retaining walls in Cobh. The Consultant will be required to undertake the preparation of all investigations, reports, designs, contract documents, project management and other engineering services required for the delivery of the project. UK-Bristol: wood waste
Recycling of wood waste. The Council has a statutory duty to collect and arrange for the receipt and disposal of household waste and other waste arising within Bath and North East Somerset. This duty includes mixed wood waste taken to its recycling centres and transfer stations. The Council is seeking to award a Contract for the Recycling of wood waste collected at its three recycling centres and one transfer station, ensuring its diversion from landfill. The wood waste will be of mixed grade material. The Contract will commence on 1.5.2012 and continue for an initial term of 1 year with an option for the Council to extend the Contract for up to a further 1 year.
