The Maritime & Coastguard Agency seek to award a three year call off contract, with a possible extension for a further year, to provide the following emergency rescue equipment: Full-body Rescue Harnesses: Initial quantity of 975. These harnesses will be used for work positioning and fall arrest. They should be single piece harnesses, manufactured from man-made fibre webbing and use non-corroding buckles. They are required to comply with BS EN 361, BS EN 358 and BS EN 813. Over the remainder of the contract period the requirement will be for replacement of damaged harnesses. Emergency Rescue Slings (E.R.S.): Initial Quantity will be 230. The E.R.S. will be used for the stabilisation and rescue of casualties from Sea Cliffs. They should be single piece split-chest rescue strops with adjustable leg loops, manufactured from man-made fibre webbing and use non-corroding buckles. They are required to comply with ISO EN 1497. Over the remainder of the contract period, the requirement will be for replacement of damaged E.R.S. Rescue Personal Flotation Devices: Initial Quantity will be 115. A technical rescue personal flotation device is required to be used in mud and water rescues and other water borne operations, having good buoyancy and a cowstail attached to a quick release harness. These Personal Flotation Devices are to replace the Safety Harnesses and Lifejackets currently used by our Mud Rescue Technicians. They should be manufactured from hard wearing rip-stop fabric and be usable for all types of mud and water borne operations. They are required to comply with ISO EN 12402-5. Over the remainder of the contract period only replacements of damaged PFDs will be required.
