The Contracting Authority proposes awarding a Contract for the provision of road passenger transport services over a 3 year period within the eastern region. UK-Preston: construction work for buildings of further education
Visual performing arts building. Following the cessation of the LSC Major Capital Programme in June 2009, Preston College are now progressing phase one of their Fulwood Campus Redevelopment. Having recently secured Skills Funding Agency (SFA) enhanced renewal grant funding the college are progressing stage D design work to allow submission of the necessary town planning application and procuremen of a main contractor to deliver the project through to completion on site. Phase one of the proposed development is a circa 4 800 000 GBP investment (overall capital out-turn cost) to create a new landmark entrance building providing visual performing arts curriculum areas which will include dance studios, theatre provision and associated areas. The current design proposals have been completed to RIBA work stage C by Taylor Young Architects and the appointed College Design Team, and includes circa 1 400 sqm of new build three storey accomodation and approximately 1 800 sqm of refurbished accomodation. The proposals include a new entrance / main college reception area create a new and dynamic first impression of the College Campus. The current cost plan indicates a construction cost of circa 4 000 000 GBP excluding professional fees, FF&E and VAT which is in line with the June 2010 SFA cost model. The College and its Design Team are now progressing the detailed design stages for the project to allow a full planning application to be submitted and considered by Preston City Council. In addition the information will also inform the main contractor tender process. College requirement is to have the new building completed and open to student for the start of 2011 academic year (September 2011) which will require practical completion during August 2011.
