CDs for use in Rimage burner systems. This tender invitation is cooperation between Huseby Resource Centre, the Norwegian Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted, Christian Association for the Visually Impaired in Norway and the Norwegian Library of Talking Books and Braille. Huseby Resource Centre and the Norwegian Library of Talking Books and Braille are governmental institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Research and the Ministry of Culture. Huseby Resource Centre and the Norwegian Library of Talking Books and Braille carry out adaption of literature for visually impaired and people with print disabilities. The Norwegian Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted is a nationwide interest group. All of the above listed organisations offer adapted audio literature format distributed on CD-ROM. The preferred format is DAISY. See www.daisy.org for further information of the format. All participants use CD production systems from Rimage in the producer family for requirement oriented production. In 2010 the expected consumption of CDs will exceed 600 000 units with an even distribution throughout the year. The consumption is expected to increase the next few years. Stoppage in the production process as a result of non-functional CDs in the automatic system is both labour-intensive and time-consuming. The Awarding Authority therefore requests low margin of error. Large quantities of CDs are only played once before the CD is destructed. It will be relatively easy to produce replacement copy in case of damage CD for pupils and students who are playing the CDs several times. It is therefore not necessary for the CDs to have a long life-span. Detailed requests for tenders: The Awarding Authority wishes to enter into a joint framework agreement which control the prices and delivery terms. Agreements regarding call-offs shall be carried out by the supplier and each organisation included in the framework agreement. The framework agreement period is 2 years with option for 1 year prolongation. Supplier must substantiate that the CDs are adapted to the above described production systems.
