UK-Glasgow: railway and tramway locomotives and rolling stock and associated parts
UK-Glasgow: Subway bogie repair and modification. SPT wishes to hear from suitably railway experienced and qualified contractors that are in a position to repair and modify the power car bogies from supplied drawings. Due to service demand, the contract will be spread over a period of time with only small numbers being available for uplift and repair at any time. The works will compromise the following: Uplift of stripped bogies from Broomloan depot, stripping off paintwork from selected areas, preparation of bogies for repair and modification, manufacture of modifications for installation, repair of bogies and carrying out modifications, NDT, surface preparation and paintwork re-instatement, delivery of repaired bogies back to Broomloan Depot. It is desirable that suppliers are RISAS approved for fabricated bogie frames, possibly a 'link up' supplier and BS EN ISO 9001 quality management approved. A two year contract duration is planned. All potential tenderers must express an interest by completing and returning a PQQ which is available from the SPT web site. It can be found under 'procurement' then buyer profile/other information. MHS Medway Low Secure Mental Health Unit. To provide, from within existing financial resources, a local, male, low secure in-patient service for the population of Kent and Medway. The service needs to be provided within the Kent and Medway PCT's geographical area. The service would consist of 20 beds - of which 5 would cater for people in acute mental health crisis. These services are currently purchased from a range of Out of Area or local providers. The aim of the service is to support a comprehensive forensic mental health care pathway for the male population of Kent and Medway. It would enable care closer to home, provide effective local 'step down' services from conditions of medium security and promote coordinated discharge planning. The service will provide a prison mental health transfer function. This function will enable fast track assessment and treatment of Kent and Medway prisoners to hospital under the Mental Health Act, where conditions of low security are assessed as required. The Trust has developed over time a significant reliance upon IT for the provision of both clinical and support systems and infrastructure to run the hospital effectively and efficiently.
