Fire Safety Engineering Design Services for the provision of a Sports Academy Building at IT Tralee. The project is for the design and construction of a Sports Academy. The Project is in two Phases: PHASE A - relates to the construction of the 'Dry' facility; and. PHASE B - the development of a 'Wet' facility. This tender opportunity relates specifically to Phase A. This project (Phase A) comprises of the construction of an international size Sports Hall, Gymnasium, Aerobics Suite, Treatment Rooms, Lecture Rooms, Offices, Meeting Rooms, Changing Rooms, Toilet Facilities and associated Ancillary Rooms, Storage Area, Building Services, and External Works, having a total gross floor area of approximately c6,900 m2. The design of the proposed building will incorporate the current best practice for sustainable design, acoustics and energy efficiency, with the objective of keeping running and maintenance costs to a minimum. The proposed building will be located on the Institute's North Campus at Dromtacker, Tralee, Co. Kerry, and will form an integral part of the campus. This building will service not only the Institute's requirements but will also be available to external sports activities and events. The final project will be readily accessible to, and usable by, individuals with special needs, accessibility for all is an essential requirement. The Institute hopes to enhance this facility with a Phase B development which will incorporate a 'wet' area with swimming pool and associated facilities. At this stage, the timing of this phase has not been defined. The Institute is now seeking to appoint an Fire Safety Engineering Design Service Provider to provide the full range of Fire Safety Consultancy Services to the Institute. Communication and Branding of the Region. The Gal XLOKK is making a strong emphasis on this communications project since communication and branding nowadays has become the real key for success both socially and economically. Branding the region consists of the introduction of various marketing and informative techniques, which will increase awareness about the Gal Xlokk region. There are many interesting rural areas in the Xlokk region, which can be used asan asset to attract more tourism in the area, who visit different countries just for their rual rural and cultural activities. The rationale envisaged for this project is: "Strengthening communities by promoting the region as a centre of cultural activities to attract tourists, thus improving the lives of the people who live and work in the Xlokk region". Given that there is a lack of coordination in the region to organize coordinated events to address these particular themes, the Gal XLOKK Foundation intends to use EU funds available under the LEADER programme to start promoting regional events and branding the region. This project will eventually provide an opportunity to different stakeholders in the region to interact and create a network that promotes the sociocultural aspect of the region. The project will entail the creation and implementation of a communications and branding strategy to promote the Xlokk region using existing assets and through the reorganization of already established initiatives. The strategy should be composed of several action measures; including the research and publication of educational information on the sociocultural aspects of the region aimed at educating different segments of the population in the region; the promotion of the region and organized activities through advertising and public relations covering organized events; the support to existing NGOs in the promotion of organized sociocultural events; creation of several media to promote the region both with local citizens and also tourists; branding the region and promoting it through several media channels.
