UOE/2012/014 - Framework for the provision of Contract Cleaning services. Accommodation cleaning services. The University of Exeter provides accommodation for approximately 5,000 students in residential buildings which are either owned or managed by the University. The University operates both catered and self catered accommodation. Self-catered accommodation is arranged in flats or houses of between 1 & 12 students sharing a self-contained unit, which comprises single study bedroom, shared kitchen, shared bathroom facilities or en-suite. Catered accommodation generally comprises of bedrooms which are either single or twin occupancy or either share bathroom facilities or are en-suite. These halls usually have dining rooms and common rooms serving the students of the hall. Each accommodation address is allocated a Housekeeping Manager who deals with all issues in respect of this property, including cleaning. Full details of our accommodation and sites are included within the ITT package. All accommodation facilities must have a Deep Clean at least once per annum with some facilities having up to three Deep Cleans per annum. Cleans are undertaken on/between specific dates and within specified time periods. In order to satisfy this requirement the University aims to put in place a framework agreement with a number of suppliers to satisfy its yearly requirements. The University shall use the year 1 cleaning requirements divided into 11 packages to assess tenderers responses. In year 2 (and potentially 3-4) the University shall undertake a mini-competition to assign contractors to work in the same fashion (further explained within the ITT document). The number of successful suppliers will be dependent on both the responses to this document and the results of each year 1 package. The University has no preference as to how lots are satisfied, e.g. one supplier may be successful in all packages or 11 different suppliers may be successful for a single package each. The University will also consider adding additional suppliers (to give a maximum on the framework of 14) to the framework should it be felt further resources may be necessary to fulfill cleaning requirements in future years.
