The A5 WTC Archaeological Investigation involves the construction of offline dualling extending for approximately 37km. The Scheme is divided into two sections; Section 1 is located between New Buildings and north of Strabane and Section 3 is located between the south of Omagh and Ballygawley The archaeological investigation works shall be undertaken in parallel with the construction of the scheme. The archaeological works are comprised of three phases: Phase 1 includes site evaluation works, comprising localised strip and map, trial trenching and building recording. Phase 1 has been designed to investigate the potential impact of the scheme on recorded and unrecorded archaeological remains and to assist in the development of an appropriate scope of work to mitigate the effect of the scheme by archaeological excavation and recording of any archaeological remains which are revealed. Phase 2 is mitigation works arising from the Phase 1 works which may include additional excavations. UK-London: railway-track construction materials and supplies
Alternative Trackbed System for use on London Underground and Transport for London Rail Tracks. Tube Lines is looking to trial an Alternative Track Bed System (ATBS). The trial has to be carried out in the tunnel section of the London Underground. This will need to consist of two running rails and two conductor rails, as well as incorporating drainage, track side equipment and signalling equipment. The system will need to be installable within night time engineering hours (3-4 hours). The scope includes provision for design, technical support and specialist materials for the trial. Following a successful trial, it is Tube Lines discretion if it wishes to implement the system. ATBS can also be implemented for future Transport for London and London Underground rail track requirements. If the ATBS is to be implemented then the supplier has to provide specialist materials for the work and also provide a licence for specialist materials.
