UK-Bristol: lasers
Ultrafast Laser System. An ultrafast laser system is required that delivers the capabilities set out in the specification. We envisage a system that might consist of an ultrafast oscillator and amplifier, the output of which pumps two optical parametric amplifiers (OPAs), each of which is fitted with sum and difference frequency generation units. A further portion of the oscillator/amplifier output can be redirected either for second and third harmonic generation, or for white-light continuum generation. CPV: 38636100. ...

Tensile test machinery (University of Skövde). Invitation: On behalf of University of Skövde the University of Gothenburg invites you to submit a tender for a tensile test machinery (University of Skövde). Contracting Authority: University of Skövde, (Org Nr. 202100-3146), referred to as the University, is the Contracting Authority. Background and scope: The group mechanics of materials is concerned with the development of methods to calculate the strength of materials. To accomplish our goals, we work with experimental techniques, numerical methods (FEM) and theories for damage and fracture mechanics. Today, our work is focused on the strength of composite materials and adhesive joints. Increasing demands on lower emissions and decreased fuel consumption provide a strong driving force for changing from traditional engineering materials to light weight materials. Often these materials cannot be joined by welding. Adhesive joining provides an interesting technique that facilitates joining of different materials. Composite materials provide excellent strength and stiffness to weight ratios. They are often used in high demanding environments where the safety of the structure is essential. Within this field we develop methods to improve the predictability of strength properties. This project fatigue of adhesively bonded structures (2011-2013) is a KK HÖG project where fatigue of adhesive joints is in focus. Partners are Saab Automobile, Scania, Volvo Cars, Volvo AB and DOW. This document constitutes a bid specification for 1, or 2, hydraulic material testing systems including accessories. The specification is divided into 3 separate parts: 1. Dynamic tensile test equipment; load capacity of 25 kN; 2. Quasi static tensile test equipment; load capacity of 100 kN; 3. Hydraulic power supply unit. The separate parts as well as the options should be quoted separately. All the equipment will be provided from the same supplier. If there are any possible synergies between the systems which can reduce the price, IE the same measurement equipment can be used for both systems, the vendor has to supply information about this. The system shall include all components which are necessary for correct operation, including transport, assembling and functional test at the laboratory (G120) in Skövde, Sweden. About the University of Skövde: The University of Skövde has about 11 000 students (about 4 400 full year students) and offers almost 700 single subject courses and some 50 degree courses. We have around 10 international masters programmes and nearly 100 single courses given in English. We offer Swedish for foreign students and an introduction course to Swedish society and culture. The University of Skövde has 3 schools: the School of Humanities and Informatics, the School of Technology and Society and the School of Life Sciences. Further information: www.his.se/english. Contracting Authority: University of Skövde, (Org Nr. 202100-3146 and VAT Nr. SE202100314601), hereafter referred to as the University, is the Contracting Authority. Final Date: Final date for receipt of tender is: 21.12.2011. CPV: 38000000. ...
