WAN Active Equipment and Related Ancillary Services for Schools. One of the aims of Malta's National e-Learning Strategy, is to establish the technology infrastructure that will support educational professionals and students. In view of this and in order to enable the Ministry of Education, Employment and the Family (MEEF) achieve new potentials; MITA will be upgrading the schools' Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure. As part of this upgrade, MITA will also be segregating the schools from the MAGNET network. This will create a new and separate WAN where all schools in Malta will be interconnected on a network that is independent from the sites on the MAGNET. This new network will also connect schools with the e-Learning solution that will be centrally hosted at the MITA data centre.
