NHS Leicester City invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced healthcare providers to submit expressions of interest for the tender for intermediate care beds that are to be located within the City of Leicester, and which will provide rehabilitation, acute hospital admission avoidance, and hospital step down services. The number of beds to be procured will be between 45 and 60. Ideally located on one site, but not essential, this facility will result in an increase in the number of people successfully regaining their independence following crisis. With quality second to none, this will be reflected in: — Excellent patient reported outcomes, — A reduction in the number of inappropriate acute hospital admissions, — A reduction in the number of acute and community hospital readmissions within 30 days of discharge, — An increase in the number of people rehabilitated to achieve independence, — A reduction in length of stay, — A reduction in delays in transfers of care from acute to community, — Flexibility of accommodation to enable efficient use of bed capacity to undertake rehabilitation, community step up and hospital step down activities.
