The Authority has contracted for a 4 year enabling contract for the supply of hand operated pulling & lifting machines. The requirement is for a one man lever operated pulling & lifting machine that can work in any position, any angle and over any height with a forward and reverse capability. The machine is to be operated in a continuous snatch free operation using a removable telescopic operating handle and must be capable of a 3.2 tonne lift and 5 tonne pull on a single fall of rope. It must have a mechanism that operates using a 16 mm nominal diameter wire rope to be coiled onto a drum. The machine must be capable of pulling, raising, lowering, tensioning and guying. The pulling & lifting machine must be repairable and have replaceable parts for high wear items. It must have replaceable shear pins and be supplied with ancillary items such as anchor point, ground anchor, anchor spikes and 20 m and 30 m wire rope on spool fitted with captured shackle/hook. The design, materials and workmanship must conform with the relevant British Standards, Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998, Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 1992, CE Specifications, Deutches Industrie Normale (DIN) Standards and current Health & Safety at Work Regulations. The equipment is to be robust enough to withstand continuous use in the field and within an industrial environment. The requirement also includes the supply of accessories and the production and supply of an Army Equipment Support Publication (AESP) and a Safety Case. It is the Authority's intention to operate electronic trading by migrating the Contract to Purchase 2 Payment (P2P) at the earliest opportunity following Contract award.
