Prior to each local and parliamentary elections carried out since 1989, including the referendum regarding Norwegian EU membership in 1994 and school election for the Sami Parliament from 2005, nationwide school elections have been organised in Norway. The objective is that the students are given the opportunity to organise test elections and that they are trained in how to cast votes in ordinary elections. It is a broad political consensus that children's and youth's opportunities for participation in the society must be reinforced. Education will form a great deal of the foundation for active participation and influence, and the school elections are therefore important tools in this context. School elections are a national event. In 2011 and 2009, 80 % of Norway's upper secondary schools participated in the school elections. The school elections are given major attention in the country's media and in the political environment. The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training henceforth referred to as the Awarding Authority, have had the paramount responsibility for school elections, which has a long tradition in Norwegian schools. The school elections are closely tied to the subject curriculum, basic skills and competence objectives for subjects. The Awarding Authority wishes to enter into agreement with a service provider who can organise and coordinate school election for the period from 2012 until and including 2021. School elections will be held the same year as ordinary elections are held; 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021. IRL-Dublin: road construction works
Valentia Road Construction. Contract: upgrade an existing 820m approx. of roadway and construct a further 730m approx. of roadway. The purpose of this notice is to inform interested parties of the intention of Met Éireann, The Irish National Meteorological Service, to issue a tender for the construction of approximately 730m of new haul roadway and the upgrading of approximately 820m of existing track to haul roadway standard. The roadway will have a width of 4m. The roadway will be required to support vehicles of up to 35 ton which will have to access the site during the construction phase of a new building required at Met Éireann's Air Monitoring facility. The contract will encompass preparation of the ground, supply of stone and materials to the site and the laying of these materials. It is envisaged that the 820m upgrade will involve the laying of a 'floating road' using a geosynthetic type material which will be then laid over with stone and finished with a finer material. The 730m new roadway would involve the removal of the shallow peat layer and the laying of stone directly onto the clay and finished with a finer grading material. Traffic on the road will be either construction traffic or commercial type vehicles and a black top finish will not be required.
