UK-Lowestoft: mass spectrometer
Liquid chromatograph-tandem mass spectrometer system. Liquid chromatograph-tandem mass spectrometer system comprising of: LC system. The LC system should provide "fast chromatography" and accordingly present a low total system volume. LC pumping system able to deliver reproducible gradient profiles at low flow rates and suitable for operation with ≤2 μm particle columns. Thermostatted-column compartment providing reproducible regulated temperature from less than ambient to 90 °C. Autosampler providing a minimum capacity of ≥90 2 mL autosampler vials with temperature (above and below ambient) controlled compartment, with minimal system dead-volume suitable for fast LC and ≤2 μm columns, low carryover (<0.1 %), accurate and reproducible sample injection volumes and a reduced injection cycle time with injection parameter programming. In-line solvent degasser with vacuum degassing suitable for solvent flow rates >0.1 mL/min and up to 1 mL/min. Integrated or external divert valve, which must be under automated data system control to enable the user to switch LC flow to waste at any time during the analytical run. Triple quadrupole mass spectrometer system. Positive and negative ion operation with polarity switching in <50 ms. Electrospray ionisation at flow rates up to 1 mL/min without LC flow splitting. A syringe pump for infusion experiments, preferably integrated to the MS and software-controlled. Mass range from at least m/z 40 and up to 2 000 amu. Acquisition modes to include full scan MS, selected ion monitoring, multiple reaction monitoring (MRM), product ion scan, precursor ion scan, MS/MS neutral loss/gain. Scan rate of 5 000 Da/s or better. Autotune capability or similar which enables automated optimisation of mass calibration and automated test analyte tuning. Efficient collision cell technology: inter-channel, cross talk between two MRM transitions, sharing a common product ion and acquired using a dwell time of 10 ms and an inter-channel delay of 10 ms must be less than 0.01 %. Fast acquisition in MRM mode without significant peak signal intensity reduction. Minimum MRM dwell time of ≤10 ms per channel. Suitability for extended (≥24 h) operation, without any significant change (± 15 %) in sensitivity (area response and signal to noise ratio), when injecting samples containing high concentrations of low volatility, co-extractives within a single batch analysis for both positive and negative ion modes. General. Integrated software control of the complete LC-MS system. Sufficient supplementary software licences to allow simultaneous processing of data off-line by at least 5 people. Operator and maintenance training to successfully train 3 analysts in all necessary procedures applicable to the task. Guaranteed system support (parts and service) for at least 10 years. A minimum 1 year warranty to include guarantee of engineer call-out within 48 hours of call being logged. Prospective bidders to have availability to conduct demonstrations between early December 2011 and early January 2012. CPV: 38433100. ...
