Asbestos removal & management. Orbit East and South and Bromford Housing are seeking to appoint a specialist preferred supplier/s to undertake asbestos removal and remediation services throughout their portfolio of housing properties, which include approximately 35 000 tenanted homes, communal areas in approximately 900 blocks of flats, garages and other properties. The appointed contractor/s shall be required under the terms of the contract to provide small and large scale planned removal works in addition to emergency call out service (within 24 hours) to remove and dispose of asbestos and suspected asbestos containing materials. The contract may require the provider/s to carry out asbestos management and refurbishment and demolition surveys on occasions but does not include wholesale surveying service which is being tendered as a separate Lot. The contract is to undertake asbestos removal and remediation and associated works in relation to the General Needs Housing, Sheltered and Supported Housing owned or managed by Orbit East and South and Bromford Housing. The successful contractor /s must hold and maintain throughout the life of the contract a full HSE licence to carry out any remedial or removal works of all forms of asbestos materials and hold the necessary means and licences for safe disposal of that material in line with regulations. The successful contractor/s will be required to work under the direction of other main and principal contractors engaged by Orbit South and East Bromford Housing and to act as subcontractor to those contractors in certain situations. The successful contractor/s must have a fully electronic system for the receipt of works orders and processing of documentation, certification and invoices. The providers' systems must be capable of exchanging data with Orbit's and Bromford's housing and asset management system without re-entry of vital data. Works are to be carried out externally and internally to 16 of the 19 floors and a ground floor entrance. The proposed external works include: access scaffolding and/or mast climbers; concrete repairs to the external facade; installation of a rainscreen cladding system; new aluminium double glazed windows and doors; renewal of the asphalt coating to the external balcony floors; the installation of a new aluminium entrance foyer and external canopy; a new GDX 5 door entry control system; the installation of a new CCTV system and other ancillary works. Contractor for Upgrade Works to Existing Theatres at James Paget University Hospital for James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust requires the appointment of a Main Contractor for a contract to extend, reconfigure and upgrade the existing Main Operating Theatres at James Paget University Hospital, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. It is anticipated that the contract strategy will be single stage traditional tendering without quantities. It is anticipated that the construction cost will be approximately 6 500 000 GBP to 7 500 000 GBP (excluding VAT). The new extension at First Floor level re-provides a dirty corridor serving six existing theatres. This allows the existing theatres to be enlarged by expanding into the existing dirty corridor. A new plant room will also be provided as part of Phase 1 of the Project by constructing a new structural frame which stands over the existing two storey building. The reconfigured theatre suites are then upgraded and refurbished as necessary. This will involve, although it will not be limited to, stripping out of existing services, partitions, doors, finishes, fittings and furishings and providing new as necessary. New plant, equipment and controls as well as replacemet mechanical and electrical services installations will be included as part of the Project. The Project is located within and over a two storey wing between two courtyards towards the centre of the existing hospital. Enabling works will be necessary to ensure adequate Health and Safety precautions are in place to allow the construction of the Project and provide suitable access to the work area and for the movement of materials and components. All existing facilities will remain in use and operational during the course of the works.
