135/MVT purchase/rental of metrology equipment The University of Sheffield has a requirement for the supply and installation of large volume inspection equipment to further supplement the capabilities of the Nuclear AMRC. The University wishes to procure this via a purchase/rental arrangement with the supplier maintaining title to the equipment. As a facility we require the ability to inspect and measure very large components without having to move them. We also require the ability to introduce adaptive control techniques into our robotic cell to increase the accuracy of the automated assembly processes. The third requirement is the ability to perform localised and on machine inspection using a 7 axis measurement arm and hand held scanners or probes, this equipment should also be suitable for reverse engineering components. The equipment should include 2 Laser Trackers (or equivalent) suitable for the inspection of components up to 5m in diameter to an accuracy of +/- 100 um At least one of these devices should be readily transportable for use on various sites. The equipment should include a method of robot and machine tool tracking for accurate positioning and adaptive control. The equipment should include hand held scanners/probes for measuring components. These should be able to produce point cloud data suitable for producing 3d cad models of the measured component. The scanners/probes should be suitable for the use on the end effector of a typical industrial robot. The equipment should include a 7 axis measurement arm with suitable end scanner/probe. The equpment shall be covered by a suitable manufacturers warranty. The supplier shall provide training in the use of the equipment. The supplier shall provide a suitable level of technical support. This is a one off requirement for purchase or rental advertised through the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) using the Accelerated Restricted Procedure in accordance with the UK Public Contracts Regulations (2006).
