The aim of the evaluation is to examine the Research Council's role in the Norwegian research and innovation system and consider whether the goals established for its activities are being achieved effectively and with a high standard of quality. Term of Contract: The contract will commence on 1.7.2012, and last for 140 months, ending on 27.2.2024. UK-Ayr: works for complete or part construction and civil engineering work
Construction of a New Public Observatory. The Scottish Dark Sky Observatory Group has developed an exciting project to construct a new publicly accessible astronomical observatory on the Craigengillan Estate, near Dalmellington, East Ayrshire. The Observatory will comprise housings for two telescopes, associated telescope control rooms and a general activity room, served by a small kitchen and toilet. The project will include the provision of a new sustainable surface water and waste drainage systems, a photovoltaic energy generation and battery storage system, associated forestry track standard roads, public parking and observing bays for use by amateur astronomers. The project has secured grant funding from several sources sufficient to complete the construction work. It has full planning permission and building warrant approval from East Ayrshire Council. The anticipated start date for the construction works is late Autumn 2011. Expressions of interest are sought from building contractors who can clearly demonstrate the following requirements: — experience of providing high quality building works in remote, environmentally sensitive rural locations, preferably within the ayrshire district, — the ability to make available a senior management level presence on the site with 2 hours of a request to do so, — familiarity with the east ayrshire locality and an appreciation of local building forms, methods and materials, — provide workshop premises within 2 hours travel distance of the site to maximise off-site fabrication and still allow easy access by the design team for inspection and quality checking, — can demonstrate experience of working with a project involving a specialist client fit-out, — is willing to employ local labour, where it is reasonably practical to do so, — provide details of current and anticipated workload within 2 hours travel distance of the site. Applicants who express an interest will complete the pre-qualification documents attached and return within 30 days of publication of this notice. After pre-qualification, up to five main contractors who have expressed an interest and returned the questionnaire will be invited to tender for the works.
