Provision of a Mail/Despatch Service. Strathclyde Police requires a mail despatch service for the uplift and delivery of internal mail as required in the Strathclyde Police Force area and the uplift of external mail for next day delivery. There are requirements for a range of security options including the option for tracking of mail if required. A Contract Account Manager is required as a general point of contact and to resolve any issues or problems that may arise. Uplift is required of internal mail from pre-arranged locations Monday to Friday between 16:30 hrs and 18:30 hrs. Deliveries will be made on the next day to addresses Tuesday to Saturday between 7:30 hrs and 8:30 hrs. Delivery must be made to either a locked mail box at an agreed location, or delivered to an agreed individual (for example Commissionaire) with a signature to confirm delivery, which must be available from the Contractor on request. Uplift of external mail is required for delivery to professional, public and financial services organisations. External mail will be ready for uplift with internal mail, in an agreed sack or container to be provided by the Contractor. The Contractor is required to sort external mail as required, and deliveries will be made to the external address on the next working day. Mail awaiting uplift will be suitably packaged and left at an agreed location prior to the agreed uplift time. Contractors must take appropriate provisions to ensure security of mail throughout the mail despatch process to ensure that no additional mail is added, or items are lost during the despatch process.
